To ensure the successful preparation of surfaces for roof replacement and painting, it is essential to employ appropriate methodologies grounded in thorough analysis and to comply with manufacturer requirements. This process involves meticulously cleaning the walls to eliminate grime, contaminants, and dirt while also removing any loose or damaged mortar along with other detrimental elements that could impede the installation of new flashings and roofing materials as specified. B. All wood that is deemed beyond repair shall be removed and replaced as outlined. The Contractor shall provide all necessary materials and labor to complete various specialty items detailed in the documents from MCWB Architects, which include the removal and replacement of the wood shingle roof on 1785 Gadsby’s Museum/1792 Tavern, as well as replacing the standing seam metal roof above the 1878 American Legion and the existing roof at the east maintenance tower. C. Prior to ordering any construction materials, the Contractor shall verify all measurements in the field. D. The Contractor shall also prepare, prime, and paint all architectural elements associated with the roofs being replaced, including wood cornices, rakes, and dormer wood elements, in accordance with the guidelines provided in the construction documents. E. The Contractor shall take necessary precautions to protect adjacent walls, pedestrians, and equipment during all repair and construction activities, and will be fully responsible for any damages arising from negligence.
