Description of services that may be needed by the Town: 1. Architectural – Primarily for renovation projects • Create AutoCAD base drawings of existing buildings; • Identify repair and rehabilitation needs and requirements including, utilities, site, landscaping, handicap improvements, heating, electrical, air conditioning, and structural; • Familiarity with the Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) process and requirements when associated with a historic building, structure, or site; • Identify repair and rehabilitation needs and requirements for historic properties including period appropriate materials and construction methods; • Can provide a basic amount of knowledge and understanding concerning how period appropriate materials function under various mechanisms of decay and provide remediations using best preservation practices; • Can provide a basic amount of knowledge and understanding on how period appropriate construction methods are implemented; • Prepare site plans; • Recommend modifications to maximize the value and functional ability of buildings and sites; • Knowledge of how to recommend modifications to historic buildings, structures, or sites in the least invasive way possible; • Building code analyses; • Assistance with bidding and contractor selection; • Coordination of construction activities; • Design plans and specifications; • Assistance with permits and grant applications; • Cost estimates; • Attendance at meetings; • Construction administration and inspection; and • Site plan review 2. General Civil Engineering services that the Town may need - Primarily for small miscellaneous projects. • Preparation of studies, plans, specifications and contract documents for drainage, pedestrian facilities, site work, structural work, detention facilities, flow control measures, stabilization measures, handicap facilities, recreational facilities, wells, parking facilities, and other general engineering projects; • Topographic and property surveys and right-of-way acquisition; • Prepare site plans and plats; • Geotechnical investigations;
