Specifications include, but are not limited to: The School Board of the City of Richmond, herein referred to as “RPS,” the District,” and/or Richmond Public Schools,” located in Richmond , Virginia, is seeking proposals from prospective Offerors who will provide Foreign Language Interpretation and Translation Services. Said services shall include, but not be limited to those listed in the Statement of Needs detailed herein. The intent of this solicitation is to secure fixed-rate, nonexclusive, and as-needed contracts for Foreign Language Interpretation and Translation Services. Companies with demonstrated experience in these specific areas, and with an interest in making their service available to RPS, are invited to respond to this RFP per the instructions in Attachment"A". A. Telephone interpretation: The complete range of telephone interpretation services including, but not limited to, three-way or more communication with a limited English speaking or NonEnglish speaking person. The agency shall provide interpretation services to facilitate understanding between two different languages. The interpreter shall render services between a foreign language to English and vice versa, and shall be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year through dedicated toll free numbers that could include access codes to specialized call routing options, call intake scripts and the use of education materials. B. Onsite interpretation: In person interpretation and translation services in a variety of settings which include, but are not limited to, schools, conferences, home visits, meetings and school events located in either public, private or community facilities for emergency and nonemergency situations. C. Written Translation Services: The complete range of written translation services including, but not limited to, general correspondence and document translation, Microsoft Office and Google Suite documents (also including sheets, drawings, and presentations), confidential educational documents, legal reports, audio recordings, social media content, graphic design literature, marketing, software, and any other written translation services provided byRespondent. D. Virtual Interpretation Services/Video Remote Interpreting: Providers of services use videoconferencing technology. All parties connect to a link, visit a website, or otherwise join a meeting where all participants attend the conference/conferences remotely. The respective agent interprets communications and facilitates understanding between different languages and parties. RPS utilizes video conference platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet. Video conference platforms are used for parent-teacher conferences, mediations, school board meetings, and other public and private events, including one or many other parties. Virtual meetings occur in different settings and may require a combination of simultaneous and repeatback interpretation services.
