Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor shall provide hardwoods only. 2. The Contractor shall provide wood that is kiln dried or heat treated by USDA guidelines as the preferred method(s) of treatment. Reference USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service U.S. Department of Agriculture Treatment Manual, T314-a Heat Schedules. 3. The Contractor shall provide at time of bid, in the event that wood is not Kiln dried, proof that the origin of wood is within 50 miles of delivery location to ensure USDA requirements and recommendations are met for transportation of firewood. 4. The Contractor shall ensure that bundles consist of a minimum of 7 sticks cut (fireplace size) at minimum .75 cubic feet per package. 5. The Contractor shall provide each firewood bundle prepackaged with a handle or placed in a sturdy bag with handle preferably recyclable to reduce waste in the parks.
