A. General Requirements 1. Props shall be designed, fabricated, and installed in compliance with NFPA 1402 and all applicable local codes (NFPA 54, NFPA 58, building/electrical/fire codes). 2. Systems must allow for safe, repeatable training evolutions with realistic fire behavior. 3. Features shall include: a. Wireless remote-controlled ignition and shutdown. b. Integrated emergency stop (E-Stop), flame safeguards, gas shutoffs, and other safety interlocks sized appropriately for the system scale. c. Vendor-provided design and engineering drawings (including electric, gas, foundation, mounting, and anchorage). 4. Vendor responsibilities a. Delivery, installation, and commissioning. b. Instructor/operator training. c. Operations & Maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, and compliance certificates. d. Offering ongoing annual inspections and NFPA 1402 compliance service. B. Sizing & Configuration Requirements Vendors shall propose a system that meets the following scalable performance specifications: 1. SMOKE GENERATION: a. Provide smoke output rate and consumable type. Must be sufficient for daylight visibility but controllable to avoid offsite impacts. 2. FIXED INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT a. All training props shall be fixed, non-portable units permanently installed at the designated training site. b. Vendor shall provide complete installation, including anchorage, and mounting. c. Submittals shall include installation drawings and documentation sufficient to demonstrate compliance with NFPA 1402 and applicable building/electrical/fire codes. 3. PROP MODULES a. Vehicle Fire Prop i. Fixed (non-portable) design with integrated ignition and burner systems. ii. Multiple independently controlled burn areas (engine, passenger, wheel, trunk). iii. Utilizes both liquid and vapor propane. iv. Functional hood with replaceable panels for forcible entry training. v. Smoke generation capability. b. LPG Tank Fire Prop i. Simulated LPG tank (approx. 250-gallon). ii. Integrated ignition and burner system. iii. Dual burners to simulate impingement fire and vented blow-off fire. iv. Dummy shut-off valves for realistic training. 4. TRAINING & SUPPORT a. Vendor shall provide hands-on training for instructors and staff, covering: i. Normal operation and controls. ii. Emergency shutdown procedures. iii. Routine inspection and maintenance. b. Deliverables: i. O&M manuals. ii. As-built drawings. iii. Safety and compliance certificates.
