The Contractor shall: A. For Tank Inspections: 1.Conduct an internal and external inspection of vertical, atmospheric, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) chemical tanks including the nozzles and hatches. 2.Perform representative sample of Barcol Hardness readings on internal surfaces (walls, floor) of the tank to determine if average readings are within spec for continued service (may need to remove surficial deposits of precipitated product). 3.Take photographs of any deficiencies. 4.Document findings, recommendations, and corrective actions in final reporting. 5.Following the field inspections, compile and deliver a final condition assessment report binder in electronic format (Adobe PDF) including the following: a) Inspection summary report including any recommendations. b) Barcol hardness testing results form. c) All photos that were captured during the inspection. B. For Tank Relining: 1.Set up a temporary dust collection system in the work area while sanding and grinding work is being completed to help mitigate the dust and fumes. 2.Setup intake air supply and exhaust airline. 3.Install scaffolding to access the tank sidewalls. 4.Sand the interior sidewalls of the tank to create a sufficient bonding substrate for the new fiberglass material. 5.Install a new hand-lay fiberglass liner to the prepared sidewalls surfaces including but not limited to: a) Varying layers of 1.5oz Chop Strand Fiberglass Mat b) Varying layers of Nexus liner/C-veil: i. Resin: Derakane ii. Curing System: BPO/MEKP 6.Replace or repair the damaged tank nozzles. 7.Reline manway and cover: a) Resin: Derakane b) Curing System: BPO/MEKP 8.Sand the tank bottom and knuckle to create a sufficient bonding substrate for the new fiberglass material. 9.Install a new hand-lay fiberglass liner to the prepared bottom and knuckle surfaces: a) Varying Layer of 24 Oz Woven-Roving Fiberglass Mat b) Varying layers of 1.5oz Chop Strand Fiberglass Mat c) Varying layers of Nexus liner/C-veil i. Resin: Derakane ii. Curing System: BPO/MEKP 10. Apply final paraffin wax topcoat to the new fiberglass materials to seal the surfaces and aid in the curing process...
