The Authority seeks to assist Stakeholders in understanding requirements and the best strategy to build out fiber infrastructure capabilities to better support local operations, businesses, and economic development. To achieve this, an Asset Assessment will inform the approach on facilitating new fiber-based services in government, commercial, and residential areas to drive next generation connectivity impact for the next 30-50 years. To assist with this progressive initiative, the ISF will partner with the Authority to work with Stakeholders to strategically assess fiber optic infrastructure needs. The Asset Assessment will include: · Leveraging stakeholder buildings and assets, community anchors institutions, academic and research partners, and other public-private partnerships to encourage future investments into backbone, distribution, and last-mile solutions. · Researching and analyzing existing network infrastructure, city assets, and demand for services; comprehensive business and financial modelling, including return-on-investment (ROI) estimation; and participatory network planning and stakeholder alignment. · A breakdown of short-, medium-, and long-term achievable goals.
