The design, fabrication, and installation of functional public artwork at the northern trailhead of the Fall Line Trail. This project is a collaboration between the Ashland Parks & Recreation Committee and the Public Art Commission. 1. Themes: o Cycling and outdoor recreation. o “Center of the Universe” (Ashland’s nickname). o Small-town charm with quirky and quaint elements. 2. Functionality: o Include integrated seating that is comfortable and safe. o Serve as signage identifying the Fall Line Trail trailhead. 3. Durability: o Use weather-resistant materials. o Ensure the structure can withstand public use and seasonal conditions. 4. Accessibility: o Ensure the seating and signage comply with ADA guidelines. 5. Placemaking: o The artwork should create a welcoming and memorable entry point for the trail.
