Specifications include, but are not limited to: James City County seeks proposals from qualified offerors for an annual contract to provide miscellaneous interior (door, office, directional, informational, etc) and exterior (directional, wayfinder, informational, etc.) signage on an as-needed basis. Such services may include, removal and replacement of existing signs, but not be limited to, furnish and installation of various signage. Note that installation shall be required on a variety of surfaces, including concrete and brick. Services shall include furnishing all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and transportation necessary to perform the work. At a minimum, the contractor will provide the following services: 1. Conduct a full site survey in order to provide a comprehensive, detailed proposal. 2. The contractor shall provide a proposal identifying number and type of signs recommended, materials to be used, any labor, installation fees, and shall furnish details of the project for which services are being solicited. Contractors are urged to propose alternative materials such as recycled and composite materials and wood and metal alternatives. The Contractor shall consult with the County on the design, and make recommendations for materials to be used, along with a proposed schedule of work. Materials proposed should be appropriate and of quality to resist weather, insect damage, mold and vandalism. The contractors proposal shall also include a detailed fee for services. The Owner shall make the final decision of sign materials, color and design. All new and replacement James City County signs shall be designed and constructed to provide a consistent image of the organization. James City Service Authority and jointly funded entities such as the schools and the regional libraries are not included in these guidelines.
