The City of Newport News is launching a premier community-driven initiative designed to enhance the city’s entertainment landscape and position Newport News as a regional hub for live music and cultural engagement. Family-friendly events will take place at a time mutually agreed by the City and Contractor and offer diverse musical performances, food vendors, and interactive experiences in an inviting outdoor setting. The primary location for Events will be at Victory Landing Park in the downtown area of the City, a scenic waterfront venue offering a stunning backdrop for live performances. The City seeks to host a summertime concert series with a minimum of three (3) and a mximum of (5) events held between May and October. The City desires that Events may include but not be limited to the following elements: • Live music performances from regional and national artists across multiple genres. • Other types of entertainment mutually agreed between the City and Contractor. • Food trucks and concessions providing diverse dining options. • Family-friendly activities to encourage multigenerational participation. • Interactive community engagement opportunities, including sponsor activations and local partnerships. • Safe, welcoming environment where residents feel encouraged to gather, connect, and celebrate. Events aim to: • Foster community engagement by creating a welcoming space where residents and visitors can gather and celebrate. • Promote cultural inclusivity by featuring a diverse lineup of artists and genres that reflect the city’s rich demographics. • Support local businesses and tourism by driving foot traffic to key commercial areas and enhancing the city’s appeal as a regional entertainment destination. • Strengthen Newport News’ brand as a forward-thinking city dedicated to arts, culture, and high-quality public events.
