Virginia Highlands Airport Authority (the Authority) is requesting proposals from engineering firms with experience in airport layout, planning, design and operations, interested in performing engineering services for projects at Virginia Highlands Airport (KVJI). Work under these projects is anticipated to be accomplished through grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) and other funding sources. Anticipated projects include planning, design, engineering of airport facilities, including related buildings, development or assistance in the development of advertisements for sealed bids for third party construction contractors and bid review and analysis, construction phase oversight and/or inspection, environmental assessment studies, flight obstruction location and mitigation, runway and taxiway extension and improvement, grant application and administration assistance, flight safety, compliance assistance as may be required by FAA, DOAV and other regulatory agencies, and other airport improvement projects within the next five (5) years.
