• Screened and tested for proficiency in both written English and the target language(s) with affiliation/accreditation by the American Translators Association (www.atanet.org) or have other credentials or certifications that are comparable to or exceed the standards of the American Translators Association. • Able to write at an appropriate reading level for target audience and are linguistically accurate, culturally appropriate, and technically consistent with the original documents and ensure that a single translator is used to complete each document to ensure continuity and consistency in terminology, syntax, and style. • Provide ASL services in general and special education classrooms, extracurricular and schoolsponsored events (assemblies, field trips, etc.), related services (e.g., speech therapy, counseling), parent-teacher conferences, district-sponsored testing and assessments and remote/virtual learning environments (when applicable). • Provide real-time ASL interpretation to facilitate communication access in the educational setting. • Provide support student engagement, participation, and learning across the instructional day. • Ensure compliance with IEP/504 Plan requirements and ensure FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education) and legal requirements for language access services are met. • Ensure accessibility and equity in communication in educational, administrative, and event-relating settings. • Provide consistent and reliable service for students who rely on interpreting support. • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural competence in all interactions. • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other administrators, teachers and other District personnel, private mental health professionals, community service agencies, medical professionals, students, parents, etc. • Complies with all federal laws, state statutes, Board policies, administrative rules, and directives. • Aware of affidavits and statements of truth in reference to the validity of the translation. • Possess valid certification (e.g., RID, NAD Level III or higher) • Comply with the RID Code of Professional Conduct • Knowledgeable of and comply with HIPAA related privacy guidelines. • Undergo mandatory background checks
