Bid Additive 1: Covers two buildings (privately owned). 4860 Drakes Main Street and the building on Harold Street. These buildings are connected; however, for the purposes of this project and due to how they are counted in Charlotte County’s tax records, these buildings are counted as separate structures. 4880/4884 Drakes Main Street Asbestos abatement, if needed, by a contractor certified in asbestos abatement. Certification that the properties are asbestos free, either determined during the initial inspection or after any lead and asbestos has been abated. Demolition of the buildings. Removal of all debris from the property. Grading/landscaping of the property to remove any hazardous materials, and remove or place safely underground any utility lines or storm drainage lines. The contractor shall remove all rubbish and debris from work site with reasonable promptness. Rubbish and debris shall not be permitted to accumulate in excessive amounts that will become hazardous underfoot or to vehicular traffic. The contractor shall coordinate with the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry as needed during lead/asbestos abatement activities. The contractor shall submit a lead abatement notification prior to undertaking the work.
