1. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, experienced and qualified operators, traffic control, tools, equipment, fuel, water, accessories and all incidentals necessary to perform on-call, as-needed vacuuming, flushing, and cleaning to drainage structures such as pipes, drop inlets, ditch lines, catch basins, manholes, storm drains, sewers, and culverts. 2. Drop inlets and pipes shall be cleaned and flushed in such a manner that they are visually free from all material debristhat is not part ofthe structure to include but is not limited to; sand,sediment, dirt,road debris, leaves, rocks, tree limbs, roots, trash, wood, etc. 3. Two-hour cleaning; Cleaning Drop Inlets, manholes and culverts shall include any that can be cleaned and/or unclogged within two hours or less. Paid per each two-hour cleaning regardless of the manhole diameter. The two-hour completion rate starts once the contractor begins the actual cleaning. 4. In excess of the two-hour cleaning; On occasion, the Drop inlet, manhole or culverts may require in excess of two- hours to thoroughly clean. If the job will take longer than the two-hour period to complete, the Contractor shall contact the VDOT Contract Administrator for authorization to proceed. If the Contractor fails to do so, the additional work beyond the two-hour period may not be paid by VDOT. The Contractor will be paid the unit price bid (Line Item 1) for the first two-hours of service and then starting at the third hour be paid the hourly rate (Line Item 2) and ending once the drop inlet, manhole or culverts are fully cleaned to the satisfaction of the VDOT Contract Administrator or designee. Hours worked beyond the two-hour cleaning, but less than one full hour shall be rounded up to the nearest one half-hour. 5. Culvert pipe cleaning shall be paid by linear feet according to the pricing schedule. One section of pipe shall be defined as the location beginning at the pipe inlet invert continuing and ending at the next outlet invert of the pipe. 6. The Contractor shall be responsible for all costs to provide all water necessary to perform operations to include costs of water meters of the local town, county or city if those resources are needed. The Contractor shall arrive at the agreed upon meeting location each workday with a full load of water.
