Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Virginia Department of Corrections (the Agency) has determined that design/build, as a construction procurement method for the design and construction of the identified scope of work will: 1-Expedite project delivery by overlapping design and construction activities. 2-Reduce project costs by eliminating redundant design efforts. 3-Better align the Owner Agency, Facility & Contractor goals.To expedite the work to the extent possible, the Owner has combined the following projects into one larger project. Both facilities shall receive an identical scope of work, however only one facility may be under renovation at a time. Further guidance on sequencing of the work will be offered in the RFP document. 1. Replace Existing Security/Detention Access Control System 2. Replace Existing Fire Alarm System 3. Install Fiber Optic Cabling Between Select Structure
