The syllabus shall include the following at a minimum: a. An introductory presentation for students and parents which shall include an overview and instruction for the skills exercises that give the students an overview of the risks faced in a motor vehicle and how to reduce those risks. This may include PowerPoint presentations and videos. b. Advanced Driving Exercises for Teens including but not limited to: car control and skid recovery, panic braking and ABS stop, drop wheel and off-road recovery, distracted driving awareness exercises, crash avoidance, and slalom. c. Other instructional elements to include proper seat belt usage, hand and mirror positioning, safely sharing the road with big rigs, guidance on what to do during a traffic stop, safe driving pledge, and other teen safety driving elements. d. Classroom sessions for parents on Virginia Graduated driver Licensing Laws (GDL), teen statistical datal for Virginia and problems associated with teen driving, parental responsibility during the learning to drive phase for young drivers, the importance of setting driving rules, consequences, monitoring driving behavior, practicing driving skills with teens, and signing a parent-teen driving contract. e. Printed educational materials on teen driver safety for the participants is preferred but not required
