The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as “VDOT”) is soliciting bids from qualified firms for two (2) Custom Sign Trailers equivalent to attached sketch and as described below to VDOT Fredericksburg Structure and Bridge, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Contractor shall furnish and deliver Two (2) Custom Sign Trailers equivalent as described: 1. Trailers while custom fabricated, may be built on a manufactured trailer frame that meets specifications. 2. Dimensions: 5x7 with decking extending onto tongue of trailer; 3. Layout of components on trailer should match dimensions provided on sketch. 4. Frame: 3” Channel Main Frame; 5. Axle: Minimum 3,000 lb. rating; 6. Floor: 1/8” Diamond Plate Floor; 7. Trailers shall be Black in color and shall be painted with Primer Coat and 2 Coats of Durable Finish Coat per industry standards. Trailer shall be prepared for paint post modifications for painting. Any damage to coatings shall be corrected by fabricator prior to delivery. 8. Hitch: Pintle Hook; 9. Sign Holder: Box shall measure 50-1/4”H x 24” W x 50” D; 10. 4 each - Cone Holders: 1” x 30” capped Steel Pipe with bracing for holding cones; 11. 20 each - Sign Stand Holders: ½” x 16” Steel Round Stock for holding sign stands; 12. Tires: 15” to include matching spare with sufficient load rating to match trailer; 13. Electrical: 6 Way Plug and standard Trailer light Package; 14. Jack: Drop Leg Jack; 15. Advertisement: No stickers, decals, or plates displaying dealer or distributor name or logo shall be affixed to the equipment. The manufacturer’s plate with model and serial number shall be on the equipment.
