As part of Contractor’s mechanical maintenance responsibilities, the Contractor must do all of the following: o Motors - Check for abnormal noise, check mounting bolts, and adjust as needed. o Clean air vents on fan covers to prevent overheating that could impact motor performance and o efficiency. o Gear Boxes - Check for abnormal noise, ensure mounting bolts are tight, check oil and change/add, if needed. o Drive Chain - Check tension and alignment, lubricate as needed, check sprockets and set screws, and adjust as needed. o Drive Rollers - Check for abnormal noise, excessive wear, alignment, bearing noise, and adjust and clean as needed. o V-Belts - Check tension, sheave alignment, excessive wear, and adjust as needed. o Belts - Check for excessive wear, tension, lacing, tracking, and adjust as needed. o Structural - Check mountings and anchors, alignment, and tighten as needed. o Ambaflex Upward Spirals - Lubricate, inspect, and adjust chains as necessary. o Sorter - Lubricate, inspect and adjust chains, slats, shoes, and switches as necessary. o Ensure all safety devices including E-stops, equipment guards, etc., are inspected and maintained per manufacturer’s recommendations. o Inspect pneumatic devices for proper operation. o Ensure all copper and urethane tubing is properly secured and free of visible damage.
