Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor shall provide transportation services, as directed by the tasking requirement provided by ACPS. 2. The drivers must follow all ACPS school board policies and procedures for providing transportation to school-aged students. 3. To the extent possible, the Contractor shall assign the same drivers for the designated trips to lessen mistakes and to provide consistency for the passengers. 4. The drivers shall report to the ACPS Office of Pupil Transportation daily to receive their assigned bus, bus route/schedule, keys, and other applicable document. Drivers must arrive at the Transportation Office on-time each day to ensure timely delivery of service to the students. The school bus, keys, route/schedule, and other applicable documents must be returned to the ACPS Transportation office after completion of the assigned route in the morning and afternoon. 5. Passengers shall receive on-time, daily transportation services, to/from their assigned bus stop location, in accordance with the assigned route and tasking requirement. 6. In the event of an accident or other event that endangers the safety of the passengers the drivers shall provide an immediate/initial report to the Office of Pupil Transportation via radio or telephone. ACPS will provide the driver with the appropriate assistance including, but not limited to a responding ACPS supervisor; Alexandria City Police, Fire, and/or EMS; school administrator, and/or replacement bus. ACPS will provide the driver with an accident/incident report to complete within (24 hours). This report will detail the location, date, time, parties involved [driver, vehicle attendant(s), passenger(s), other driver(s)/passenger(s)], vehicle information (other vehicle information), and description of the known facts in the accident/incident. ACPS will then notify the school and family members, as appropriate. 7. The Contractor shall provide backup personnel in the event of the incapacity or unavailability of a driver. 8. Once the school bus route has been set by ACPS, the Contractor cannot change any of the characteristics of the route without the advance approval of ACPS. 9. “Same day” routes may be authorized only by ACPS and will be assigned and distributed according to the daily tasking requirements. 10. The Contractor shall provide ACPS with an immediate contact person during peak operating times, avoiding the use of an answering service.
