Specifications include, but are not limited to: To solicit services for a Library consultant to manage the relocation of the Brooks Library at Norfolk State University. The successful Offeror will provide the following services to support the relocation of the Library collections at Norfolk State University. The process is 2 fold, with the first phase focused on a review and mapping: The Offeror shall provide the following services as a Phase I activity: Phase I - review the comprehensive and complete shelf list - determine the required LF of shelf to properly house each part of the current collection, - identify what part of the collection goes on each floor and in each shelving range* - from the shelf list, determine a strategy for which particular volumes from each part of the collection goes to each range of the mobile shelving on each floor - recognize that, initially, a large portion of the collection can go on the open shelves instead of the mobile shelving (since we have capacity for many years of collection growth), and set up a policy that migrates the appropriate books to the appropriate locations in the mobile shelving as the collection grows Phase II Norfolk State University seeks an experienced firm(s) to provide services for the inventorying, distribution mapping and relocation of all the collections from the existing library to the new building being erected next door. Library staff will not be physically involved with the relocation.
