The Courts Complex Phase IV includes the renovation of and improvements to approximately 95,400 square feet of space. The scope of this project includes adding a new Circuit Courtroom to the first floor of the building in the current Juvenile and Domestic Relations (J&DR) Clerk space, as well as adding jury boxes to all existing first floor courtrooms. On the second floor, physical modifications to two (2) existing small courtrooms are needed to improve security. Also included in the scope is the relocation of the Jury Assembly space with significant modifications to that space to convert it into the new J&DR Clerk office space and public transaction windows. Significant rearrangement and renovation of all Circuit Court Clerk areas, the 20th District Court Services areas, and Victim Witness rooms will be required. Renovation scope will include expansion and renovation of Sheriff’s Office locker space, break and security areas, plus a full interior renovation of the 11,800 square foot Valley Bank Building to accommodate the Law Library and support functions. All building systems for the courts building and the Valley Bank Building will be reviewed and likely renovated or replaced, including toilets, kitchenettes, HVAC equipment, and elevators.
