A. SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall furnish and deliver concrete members in accordance with: • Construction: Virginia Department of Transportation Road and Bridge Specifications, Section 410 that relate to concrete parapet. Including but not limited to material, concrete (cement, aggregates), steel reinforcement, casting of the 2020 Edition • Design: AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, 8th Edition, 2017; and VDOT Modifications • Standards: Virginia Department of Transportation Road and Bridge Standards, 2016; Including all revisions • Attached plans for Project 0699-053-231, B608 as shown on Sheets 5 through 9 (Attachment D). B. SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Concrete in Precast Concrete Units (PCU) shall be Low Shrinkage Class A4 Modified (Lightweight) concrete in accordance with section 217.12(a) 2. All reinforcing steel, including welded wire fabric, shall be Corrosion Resistant Reinforcing (CRR) Class I which shall conform to Section 223 of the Specifications. All reinforcing bar dimensions on the detailed drawings are to centers of bars except where otherwise noted and are subject to fabrication and construction tolerances. 3. The Class(es) of CRR and steel(s) required on this project is/are noted on plan sheets and in the reinforcing steel schedule. Class III may be substituted for Class I. 4. PCU shall bear on aggregate base material, Type II, with minimum bearing resistance of 3,000 psf. 5. All bevels for concrete shall be ¾” 6. Terminal walls are detailed to take guardrail attachment MGS 7. The parapets and terminal walls shall be precast and constructed monolithically with the moment slab portion of the precast units. 8.
