Dickenson County wishes to explore and evaluate available options for the contract services of a Virginia Licensed Auctioneer at this time. Successful candidates shall have demonstrable experience in auctions, specifically residential homes that have to be relocated off the existing site. The Auctioneer or Firm must carry all required insurance and/or bonds as required for each structure. Dickenson County will be acquiring real estate through voluntary acquisitions, as part of the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund Grant Program. Dickenson County will also be providing flood proofing measures in some cases homes will be purchased. These homes still have value and use however they must be relocated. This program will be managed by our Certified Floodplain Manager, Chris Rakes. Mr. Rakes will work with the Auctioneer to schedule site visits.
