The Electrical Systems shall be designed based on the criteria set forth in the 2012 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, 2012 International Building Code (IBC), the 2011 National Electric Code (NEC), 2010 National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA 72) and the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). 6. Plumbing work includes new fixtures to serve the increased capacity of the school. All domestic water needs will be provided from the existing building water system. Gravity chemical waste and vent system will serve all Science Laboratory fixtures, drains and equipment, as required. Propane gas distribution will be provided to science labs and the culinary arts area. Plumbing Systems for the building alterations and additions will be provided based on the requirements set forth in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code 2012 edition; International Plumbing Code 2012 edition, and ICC/A117.1”Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities”, 2003 edition. A hydraulically designed, automatic, wet pipe sprinkler fire protection system will be provided throughout the building additions according to NFPA-13,” Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems”, 2010 edition. Sprinkler system classification will be Light Hazard, Ordinary Hazard Group 1 and Ordinary Hazard Group 2 as required. Fire Protection Systems for the building will be provided based on the requirements set forth in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code 2012; the National Fire Protection Association National Fire Codes. 7. The site is anticipated to be available for construction June 17, 2015. (Actual award will take place prior to that date. Bidding is planned for Jan/Feb 2015). Substantial Completion will be phased with the final phase to be completed July 29, 2016.
