The City of Galax reserves the right to alter the Scope of Work for this project as deemed in the best interest of the City. • Mow & remove vegetative debris along both (east and west) banks of Chestnut Creek. • Project area has its upstream terminus at an island in Chestnut Creek located northeast of the S. Main Street bridge; project area has its downstream terminus at the New River State Park trailhead located northwest of the E. Stuart Drive (Rt. 58) bridge. (See attached map, Attachment A.) • Project includes approximately 17,000 linear feet of creek bank (approximately 8,500 linear feet on each side of the creek). • Project includes the removal of vegetative debris (trees, limbs, and shrubs; not including grass). • Project requires mowing twice annually (roughly May/June and October/November of each year). • In accordance with Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) requirements, no vehicular equipment is permitted within the waters of the creek.
