Odor & Corrosion Control Program Chemicals and services shall be provided under this contract to meet the requirements of the County’s odor and corrosion control program. The program will include the supply of Ferrous Sulfate and Calcium Nitrate as well as all of the services and equipment needed to fulfill the specified program requirements. Item 1 – Ferrous Sulfate Ferrous Sulfate CAS# 7720-78-7 Estimated yearly requirements – 18,000 gallons. The liquid ferrous sulfate solution shall be an aqueous solution of ferrous sulfate containing 0.48 - 0.52 pounds of ferrous iron per gallon. The pH of the solution shall be greater than 1.2 and the free acid content shall be less than 0.8%. Product shall meet AWWA specification B402-85. The material shall be fully compatible with storage and feed equipment constructed of any of the following. 1. High-Density Cross-Linked Polyethylene 2. PVC 3. Polypropylene 4. FRP 5. Stainless Steel Product shall be shipped and delivered in bulk quantities of 500 - 1,200 gallons per shipment. The price for the product shall be a delivered price (freight included) and shall be submitted as a price per gallon of solution. Pricing shall be valid for deliveries of 500 gallons or more per shipment. Tractor Trailer access to some of the Pump Stations is not possible and thus, suppliers must be able to deliver product via smaller, straight trucks. Proof of the ability to make deliveries via straight trucks must be provided with the bid. In addition, some deliveries will be “split” between two or more locations and there will be no extra charges allowed for multiple stop deliveries. Item 2 – Calcium Nitrate Calcium Nitrate CAS# 10124-37-5 or CAS# 15245-12-2 Estimated yearly requirements – 390,000 gallons. The material required under this specification shall be used to remove hydrogen sulfide, thereby preventing odor and corrosion within wastewater collection and treatment systems. The material shall utilize and enhance naturally occurring biochemical processes to accomplish hydrogen sulfide removal. The material shall be a liquid phase product. It shall be delivered, stored and fed into the wastewater via standard liquid phase chemical handling procedures. The material shall be fully compatible with storage and feed equipment constructed of any of the following. 1. High-Density Cross-Linked Polyethylene 2.. PVC 3. Polypropylene 4. FRP 5. Stainless Steel
