Perform chemical oak release treatment on 87 acres on the Lee and North River Districts
Period of Performance: 03/15/2023 to 12/15/2023
The herbicide may be applied anytime of the year, with the exception of the period of spring “flush” (April 10 –May 15), or when snow prevents proper application. Contract period may begin anytime after contract is let and be for 9 months (also flexible with length), up to a year.
North River District Area
Begin at Brandywine, WV, travel east on WV 33 for about 3.75 miles. Then turn left on FSR WV 151 and travel 2.5 miles to get to Units 3, 5 and 6. Continue on FSR WV 151 for another 3 miles, approximately, to the intersection with WV 151 C. Unit 4 is approximately .75 miles further following a decommissioned road. Succesful contractor may use a All Terrain Utility Vehicle to access the Unit during operations.
Lee District Area
Units 1 and 2, begin at the intersection of VA Rte. 259 and VA Rte. 612 and travel north on Rte. 612 which soon turns into Rte. 610 for approximately 6.25 miles. To access Unit 2 turn left on on FSR 482 and travel approximately .6 of a mile. To access Unit 1 continue north on Rte. 610 for approximately 5.25 miles, then turn left onto FSR 1854. Then travel west on FSR 1854 (gated) for approximately .25 miles to access Unit 1.
