Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Roanoke Valley is a healthcare-driven community, and the current shortage of Certified Nurse Aides has a wide range of negative implications for patient care, healthcare costs, and the workload of other healthcare professionals. A nurse aide educational program is essential to address the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals who can provide quality care to an aging population and support currently overburdened healthcare systems. Such a program equips individuals with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to assist nurses and improve patient outcomes, ensuring a well-prepared workforce ready to meet the increasing complexities of patient care. The Successful Offeror shall meet the required qualifications that follow: a) Hold current Virginia Board of Nursing approval to operate a Nurse Aide Training program. b) Have an established curriculum for Nurse Aide educational delivery in compliance with the Virginia Board of Nursing. c) Provide appropriate classroom and laboratory space, including the necessary supplies and equipment to operate such a program. The facility will be located within twenty miles of the VWCC main campus which is located at 3091 Colonial Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia, with a classroom capacity of up to twenty students for didactic instruction and clinical and/or laboratory capacity not to exceed the required Virginia Board of Nursing 1:10 instructor:student ratio, which would equate to two clinical and/or laboratory sections. d) Provide instructors with comprehensive knowledge of the Virginia Board of Nursing Nurse Aide curriculum to deliver instruction to teach VWCCs Nurse Aide Students enrolled in the program; OR, provide training to qualified nurses (RN/LPN) to become instructors and/or preceptors to provide education instructional training, supervision and evaluation of facility staff nurses to become Professional Nurse Instructors (“PNI”) who will lead and teach VWCCs Nurse Aide Students enrolled in the Nurse Aide Training Program. e) Provide evidence of current certification/licensure/credentials that qualify instructors to provide such services to VWCC. The instructor shall immediately report to VWCC if there is any disciplinary action, suspension, or termination of instructor certification/licensure/credentials
