Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Suffolk Central Library is generally described as an approximately 37,000 gross square foot, new two-story building in historic downtown Suffolk, VA. The lots on the West Washington project site are currently being combined / redrawn into a single parcel. The building’s structural steel frame rests on conventional shallow concrete foundations. The exterior walls are a combination of veneer / cladding systems attached to light gauge steel stud assemblies connected to the steel frame. The roofs are a combination of low slope membrane roofs and no-slope composite decks for green roof and terrace locations. Fenestration includes both aluminum curtainwall and storefront assemblies. Site work includes, but is not limited to grading, utility, storm water, and landscape / hardscape improvements as required to construct new vehicular access roads, parking areas, and a series of pedestrian-scaled spaces.
