Specifications include, but are not limited to: It is required that the Successful Contractor provide the required services at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove Cemetery, Olive Branch Cemetery and the Mount Calvary Cemetery Complex. Services include but is not limited to the following: a) Staffing: The Successful Contractor shall maintain skilled and competent workers in the performance of this contract. The Contractor may rotate personnel among locations to accommodate demands. b) Business Operations: The Successful Contractor shall maintain standard business hours of operation at the City’s Cemeteries. Business hours are normally Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. 3. Grounds Maintenance a) It is required that the Successful Contractor maintain the grounds at the City Cemeteries to ensure a clean and neat appearance. b) Grounds Maintenance services include but is not limited to: landscaping, tree trimming, mowing, pest control, edging, maintenance of hardscapes including pathways, drives, curbs parking areas, trash removal; snow and ice removal, sweeping or blowing gravestones, gravesites, leaves, cleaning roads and sidewalks, benches, signage, drainage and special features. c) It is required that the Successful Contractor provide mowing services year round, but especially during the active mowing season which is typically mid-March through November. 4. Mowing and Trimming a) Mowing shall be performed in accordance with the following cycles: (a) Olive Branch Cemetery and the Mount Calvary Cemetery Complex on a 7 day cycle. (b) Oak Grove Cemetery and Cedar Grove Cemetery on a 10 day cycle. b) The Contractor shall remove all wild vines, trees, shrubs, grass, and all other vegetation growing between and around the grave markers and monuments before it reaches four (4) inches in height. At no time shall any vegetation growth be allowed to grow between and/on any grave markers or monuments. Failure to adequately perform this work may be grounds for termination of the contract. c) Turf shall be mowed to a height of one and a half (1 ½) to two (2) inches using reel or rotary type mowers during the season of active growth, generally between mid-March and the last of week of November. Rough cutting and bush hogging will not be permitted. Turf shall be mowed to maintain a neat appearance. If any mowing is to be omitted or delayed, it shall be omitted or delayed only at the discretion of the Landscape Manager or designee. All mowing must be promptly accomplished at the time and frequency specified on the Bid Price Schedule which is attached hereto and made a part thereof. d) Mower height to be measured with mower on a flat, paved surface. A high quality of cut shall be provided using mowers with sharp cutting edges. Mowing shall be accomplished in such a manner as not to damage trees, shrubs, plants, signs, gravestones, markers or other obstructions. e) Weedeaters shall not be used to mow or trim turf area wider than 24 inches. f) Mowing and trimming operations shall be performed in such a manner as to prevent the piling of excessive and unsightly grass clippings on lawns. The Contractor shall remove excessive clippings immediately following each mowing cycle prior to the work crew leaving the work site. g) All resulting lawn clippings shall be removed from any and all grave markers, roadways, walkways, parking area, or any other hard surface including curbs and gutters and from plant beds, tree collars, etc. immediately after each mowing by the Contractor prior to the work crew leaving the work site. This must be performed immediately on a daily basis.
