Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1. The restoration of service, to include the fiber splicing or replacement of damaged cable or equipment either inside or outside a facility, and other work necessary to correct an operational problem. 1.2. Provide cabling (Pulling, splicing, mounting, interconnecting and terminating RG-11 and RG-6, CATV drop) for broadband CATV distribution system service where the equipment has been provided by the Arlington Public Schools. 1.3. Providing cabling (pulling and terminating Category 5e, 6, 6A and other standards of Ethernet data and voice cable, testing and cabling) and related equipment for data local area network and telecommunication service where the network equipment has been provided by the Arlington Public Schools. Refer to construction document, section 27 13 00 and 27 15 00 for exact specifications, contact Diane Hellmuth at APS 703-228-6032 for detailed information. 1.4. Splicing, pulling, and terminating single and multi-mode Fiber Optic cable (including armored), including innerduct where necessary, fusion splicing, various connectors as required by job, testing, and certification. 1.5. Pulling, interconnecting and terminating trailer tie lines, both copper and fiber using outdoor rated cable 1.6. Installation of wireless access point, including outdoor units and the cable to support them. Installation of outside point to point bridge wireless systems. 1.7. Closet build-out which may include installation of wall and floor-mounted equipment racks, other wall mounted equipment, grounding/bonding, ladder racks, cable support trays, sleeves and fire-stopping. Redesign and rebuild of telecom closets (remove switches, routers, etc and corresponding cable and then re-installing above including the re-patching of the cable -rack and stack equipment). 1.8. Label as appropriate or as directed. Specific documentation may be required per job. Provide test results of cabling if requested as part of job specifications. 1.9. Install turnkey Video Projection Systems, various Interactive Whiteboard Systems, and various sized flat screen television systems, provided by APS; (including audio-visual cabling and/or CATV cable and/or data cable). Includes de-installation of existing equipment. 1.10. Install the equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's installation specifications and APS coordination. 1.11. Installation of above systems may require provision of supporting hardware, such as fiberglass or wood. Contractor must demonstrate ability to install required hardware and in determining the conditions where it will be needed. 1.12. A large percentage of the work happens outside school hours, anywhere from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm. The APS regular hour is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
