Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this invitation to bid is to solicit bids from qualified equipment rental companies to provide the City of Hampton with snow removal (anti-icing and deicing) equipment for storm related events; and a variety of late modeled (no more than five years old) heavy-duty, well maintained construction and road maintenance equipment suitable for construction and road maintenance projects. 1. The vendor shall be able to provided five (5) Single Axle, or five (5) Tandem Axle Dump Trucks which shall be equipped with the following: A. All Single Axle Dump Trucks: 1. Automatic Transmission 2. Battery “kill switch” to prevent the battery from draining when the truck is not being operated. 3. Straight plow with in-cab control system; preferably a joystick control that controls plow movement up, down, angle left and angle right. The blade shall be 120 inches wide. 4. The plow system drive shall be hydraulic or electric. 5. Contain a 5.5 – 6 cubic yard V-box spreader within cab controls for spreader on/off and chain and spinner speed. The spreader feed gate height can be controlled in the cab or manually controlled from the ground. 6. The spreader system drive shall be hydraulic. 7. Spreaders equipped with Salt Dogg LS 5 pre wetting kit or approved equivalent kit is preferred. B. All Tandem Axle Dump Trucks: 1. Automatic Transmission 2. Battery “kill switch” to prevent the battery from draining when the truck is not being operated. 3. Straight plow with in-cab control system; preferably a joystick control that controls plow movement up, down, angle left and angle right. The blade shall be 120 inches wide. 4. The plow system drive shall be hydraulic or electric. 5. Contain a 7 – 7.5 cubic yard V-box spreader within cab controls for spreader on/off and chain and spinner speed.
