Qualified architecture/engineering firms to produce detailed designs, construction drawings, specifications and contract documents to obtain the necessary related regulatory approvals for replacement of the heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system and roof at the Fredericksburg Regional Transit’s Lawrence A. Davies Transit Center. The successful firm will demonstrate proven management skills and technical competence in the design of HVAC and roofing systems of similar design and function. It is anticipated that the required design services will include: Architectural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Structural Engineering. The project includes the replacement of the roofing above the facility and replacement of the HVAC system throughout the building. It also may include evaluating the feasibility of solar equipment and functionality. After evaluation of the current system, this project will include the removal of equipment and infrastructure, which may include roof top units, air units, pumps exhaust fans, controls and associated electrical components of the HVAC system. Therefore, this information should be included in the Engineer’s notes for the contractor.
