The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to solicit competitive sealed bids to establish a term contract with multiple vendors statewide for large vehicle and bus repairs, maintenance services and State and Federal Inspections. GENERAL: 1. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, supervision, tools, mobile service truck, transportation equipment repair parts, supplies, incidentals, and other materials necessary to provide bus and heavy vehicle maintenance and repair services to Department of Corrections (DOC) owned buses, of various years from 1979 through 2023, and other heavy vehicles on a time and materials basis. The Contractor shall provide repairs for DOC owned buses, to include but not limited to: Buses: Type A, Type C and Type D (Chevrolet, Ford, International, Supreme, Thomas, Van Hool, etc.) Heavy Vehicle Repairs and Maintenance for Road Tractors and other larger vehicles. 2. The contractor shall provide in-house repairs as well as mobile field service repairs on an as needed basis. These repair services will normally be needed during normal work hours but could be requested during emergency operations and/or after normal work hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Therefore, the contractor should have the resources to provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Repairs shall be conducted at the contractor’s place of business or at the DOC facility as determined by the Contract Administrator or designee. 3. Any resulting contracts do not guarantee any business to any Contractor but provide a method to obtain services on an as needed basis.
