The Contractor shall furnish shelter cleaning/maintenance and trash removal services to the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority’s approximately 53 bus shelters and 85 trash cans located at WATA’s bus stops as listed in Attachment A. Bus shelters are 8’2” H x 8’6” W x 4’7” D (varying slightly by model) and may include a shelter pad, bench, a trash can, and a bike rack. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, cleaning products, overhead, administration, equipment, trash bags, and dumping fees associated with emptying the trash cans and maintaining the bus shelters as described in the scope of work. All cleaning supplies, materials, and tools used in the performance of this contract shall be of good commercial quality, suitable for the purpose intended, shall meet high standards of environmental safety and effectiveness for commercial applications in high traffic areas and shall not damage the facilities being cleaned. The Contractor shall submit a list of the chemicals and solvents that will be used to clean the shelters. WATA shall have the right to prohibit the use of any process, material, supply or tool which may damage WATA property, or which may be a risk to employees, the public, or others using WATA facilities. The Contractor is also responsible for its own transportation, fuel, and vehicle maintenance. Mileage will not be reimbursed by WATA and should be included in the price. All bus shelter cleaning will be documented through weekly reports by the Contractor and may be inspected by WATA personnel at any time. WATA will be the sole judge of the acceptability of each shelter and/or stop cleaned. 2.1 Core Services: (minimum once a week) Stop Care –Stops will be cleaned a minimum of once per week. • Cleaned in this case means that all garbage in and around, within a ten foot (10 ft) radius of stop (excluding vehicle travel lanes), will be picked up and disposed of properly. • Contractor to notify WATA if graffiti/decals are noticed on the shelter before removal. Trash Can Collection – All trash cans will be serviced with each Stop Care. Locations and trash can bag collection frequency can be found in Attachment A. This is for costing purposes and is subject to change throughout the life of the agreement. • The Contractor shall be responsible for providing trash bags. WATA does not have color preferences, but bags should have an approximate 30lb capacity. • It is the responsibility of the Contractor to change the trash bag every time a stop is serviced, even if the bag is not full. • The Contractor will notify WATA of any damaged, missing, or vandalized trash cans. • Occasionally WATA may submit requests in writing for additional trash collections before, during or after special events or other times as deemed necessary by WATA.
