Five (5) to eight (8) identical bronze sculptures, realistic 3D appearance, of a blue jay resting on a branch. Total height shall be approximately 18” tall, and sculpture design should incorporate the ability to easily be mounted to various surfaces. The design should be engaging and easily recognizable. These sculptures are intended to serve as our first “arts in the parks” project and will be used to create a parks scavenger hunt to the mascot and his friendly flock of friends. The birds will be placed strategically throughout the County, beginning in its parks and may develop outward from there to include various notable sites within the County. The sculptures must be designed and fabricated with a strong emphasis on safety. All surfaces, edges, and corners must be smooth and free of sharp or hazardous protrusions that could cause injury. The sculpture must comply with all applicable safety standards and regulations, ensuring it is safe for public interaction, including children. The vendor is responsible for verifying that the final product is suitable for installation in a public space. The vendor will not be responsible for the installation or general maintenance of the artwork but agrees to be available after the completion of services for consultation if the need arises. This project will be integrated with the County’s mission of conservation and education.
