This work includes repairing settlement, repairing cracks, patching, installing/repairing pressure relief joints, or replacing overlays. Joint Rehabilitation Seal or replace leaking joints, reconstruction of joint areas during joint replacement, or elimination of deck joints. Thin Overlay Application of thin bonded overlay to bridge decks. Rigid Overlay Application of latex/silica fume overlay to bridge decks. Asphalt overlay Application of asphalt overlays with waterproof membranes. Spot Paint Spot and zone painting / coating of structural steel or bearings for prestressed concrete members. Intended for localized painting. Paint Painting / recoating of structural steel. Intended for painting throughout bridge spans or the entire bridge. Steel Superstructure Repairs Repairs to steel bridge superstructures and all related supporting activities, such as blocking and jacking of the superstructure. Examples include repairs to concrete girders, straightening of steel beams or girders, and welded or bolted repairs to steel beams or girders. Bearing Repair Repair, realignment, or replacement of bridge bearing devices and all related supporting activities such as blocking and jacking of the superstructure and concrete surface repairs to bridge seats. Concrete Surface Repair Repairs to exposed surfaces of bridge substructures and culverts, including galvanic anodes. Examples may include patching spalls/delaminations, sealing cracks, repairing damaged abutments, piers, columns, headwalls, endwalls, or wings. Concrete Sealants Application of concrete sealant, coatings, and membranes for surface protection of concrete, including supporting activities such as bridge deck washing. Examples may include products from the VDOT Materials Approved List 28 or Approved List 30 Substructure - Repair Undermining Filling Scour Holes or installing riprap (up to Dry Rip-Rap Class II) to prevent or stabilize scour at bridge substructure units. Scour Countermeasures Installation Filling Scour Holes or installing riprap (up to Dry Rip-Rap Class II) to prevent or stabilize scour in channels adjacent to structures and under bridges along abutment or pier footing faces. Removal of Debris from Channels Removal and proper disposal of trees and other obstructions from channels upstream and downstream of structures to restore proper flow along the channel.
