1. Specifications a. 5/8” diameter bolts shall conform to the requirements of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) A307. Nuts for bolts conforming to the requirements of A307 shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A563, and washers shall conform to the requirements of ASTM F844. b. 3/4” diameter bolts shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A449. Nuts for bolts conforming to the requirements of A449 shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A563DH Heavy Hex, and washers shall conform to the requirements of ASTM F436. c. Dome head bridge bolts shall have dome heads. The head shall be 2 ½” in diameter and shall be a minimum of 5/16” thick. Dome head bridge bolts shall have four (4) fins directly under the head attached to the bolt. The head shall be slotted. See attachment F. d. Threads shall be national coarse and threaded a minimum of three (3)” from bottom of bolt. e. Bolts, nuts and washers shall be galvanized in accordance with the requirements of ASTM A153 for the hot-dip process. f. The quantities of bolts, nuts and washers shall be as specified within the purchase order (PO) and the Contractor shall be required to deliver the bolts, nuts and washers to locations specified within the purchase order. g. All containers shall be plainly marked indicating the item, quantity, and size. h. Packing slip shall accompany order upon delivery. i. Dome head bridge bolts shall conform to the included dome head bolt drawing, attached. j. The nuts shall be self-locking with a stainless-steel ratchet pin, Anco or equivalent. 2. Samples a. A sample of each product shall be submitted prior to issuance of any purchase orders. Samples of each item specified shall be submitted once per year. b. Bid price for bolts, washers, and nuts shall include sample submittal and delivery. c. All samples shall be submitted within 60 days of award or renewal. d.
