Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The device shall be able to collect traffic data including speed, volume, and vehicle classifications using a non-intrusive method without the need for the installer to enter the roadway. 2. The device shall be able to accurately collect a minimum of two lanes (same or opposite directions) of traffic data and has the ability to separate data by lane. 3. The device shall be in a compact size with a weight (no more than 15lbs including batteries) that can be easily handled and installed by a single person. 4. The device shall be able to accurately function with a mounting height that can be easily reached by a normal adult without the assistance of other equipment, e.g., a ladder. 5. The device shall be easily mounted on normal roadway objects to collect data including traffic sign posts, utility poles, etc. 6. The device shall be powered by rechargeable and replaceable batteries. 7. On a full charge the battery shall be able to power the device for continuous data collection at a minimum of 8 days. 8. The device shall be supplied with reusable hardware for mounting the device. 9. The device shall include a security feature/accessory against theft when used in the field. 10. The device shall be able to function reliably outdoor in all weather conditions, e.g., rain, snow etc.
