Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Artificially inseminate the cows. 2. Furnish and deliver to the breeding site a minimum of 2 weeks prior to breeding season, all semen and supplies for the artificial insemination. Semen shall be from bulls that have Minimally meet the Virginia Quality Assured guidelines. The Agency’s Agribusiness Managers (s) will work with the contractor to identify bulls that meet the herd needs to continue to be a top commercial beef cattle herd. 3. Provide both liquid nitrogen and nitrogen tanks. 4. Provide a plan to furnish clean up bulls with a minimum age of eighteen months. The (EPD’s) of the cleanup bulls should meet or exceed the breed average for maternal and production traits and be approved by the Agency Agribusiness Manager(s) prior to use. 5. Ensure that semen donor and clean up bulls, used for replacement heifers, have birthweight EPD’s below +1.0 and have CED of +10 or higher. 6. Shall provide notification to Agribusiness Manager(s), Farm Managers(s) 7 – 10 day notice prior to delivery of bulls. 7. Upon conclusion of each breeding season, Contractor shall pick up the clean-up bulls within 30 days after notice from Agribusiness Managers(s)/Farm Manager(s)
