10” ID X 5’ Archival storage tubes. The storage tubes shall meet the rigorous standards established by the Library of Congress, the National Archives and the Image permanence Institute (IPI). The tubes shall be produced from acid-free, virtually lignin-free pulp, preferably with a Kappa number of 0-2 and a Klaison lignin context of approximately .025 percent. For reference, the Library of Congress specifies a maximum Kappa number of 5, which corresponds to roughly 0.7 percent lignin using the Klaison method. The tubes shall be constructed with a water-resistant adhesive and require no interior or exterior lining. They shall have a pH range of 7.0 to 8.0, buffered to resist acid migration, with an alkaline reserve of approximately 2 percent. They shall be constructed with paper certified to meet the ANSI IT9.16 Photographic Activity Test (PAT), to ensure suitability for long-term archival preservation. Tubes shall be delivered 90 days after receipt of order.
