Specifications include, but are not limited to: Opening Pools at (Cavalier Manor Pool, Wading Pool, Splash Park, and Portsmouth Sports Complex Pool) Remove, Clean and Store the Pool Cover Clean and prepare all gutters, skimmers, drains, ladders, plugs, gauges, and other important components of the system Add water to the desired height Test water quality Chlorine pH Calcium Hardness Cyanuric Acid Total Alkalinity level Clean and inspect pool deck: Pressure wash if needed Skim pool water surface and thoroughly vacuum pool bottom after pool is full Prepare all facilities to pass City and Health Department inspections to ensure all aquatic facilities are open and functional by opening day (Memorial Day Weekend)** **The company shall join the city in a complete inspection of both pools and Splash Park with Health Department Pools and Splash Park Maintenance weekly services – 2 to 3 times a week Vacuum the pool thoroughly Check water level and adjust accordingly Brush pool walls Backwash sand filters (if necessary) Test water quality each time and adjust chemicals as necessary to maintain Virginia Department of Health Standards* Post water quality test results each time the service is rendered per the Code of Virginia Section 32.1-248 and the Virginia Department of Health Section 12VAC 5-462.280. Check all operating equipment and report any broken or hazardous conditions or equipment – repair with approval from City of Portsmouth representative Inspect all chemical feeding equipment and replace parts (if necessary, and must have approval from the City of Portsmouth representative before commencing parts replacement) Inspect motor, pump and volute for leaks and or varied sounds *Water Quality Standards – free chlorine and bromine residuals, pH values and temperature shall be continuously maintained within the following ranges: Free Residual Disinfectant Minimum to Maximum Chlorine 1.0ppm to 3.0ppm pH 7.2 to 7.8 Closing the Pools Down Pump pool water to correct level Drain pump and hair/lint strainer Open all valves to appropriate settings Remove and store skimmer parts Remove and store all moveable ladders, pools stand chairs Store chemical injection system Drain and store water hoses Winterization chemicals to pools to retard algae growth Prepare pool and pool plumbing lines for freeze protection Complete walk through inspection Disconnect all spray features and winterize Communicate any repair needs for the following year **Please submit a weekly maintenance report
