Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Successful Bidder shall provide all tools, materials, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform snow removal and deicing services as requested by the County as outlined in the Scope of Work/Services. The materials shall include salt and non-corrosive ice melt. 2. In the interest of public safety, snow must be removed from parking lots, access roads, sidewalks, walkways, handicap ramps and steps and placed on a designated grassy area as directed by the County’s authorized representative. Snow piled on the surface of the parking lots, access roads, sidewalks, walkways, handicap ramps and steps could melt and re-freeze creating a hazard, therefore the snow must be completely removed which may require lifting snow over curbs. In the event that snow relocation is necessary, the County shall provide an alternate area for the snow relocation. 3. Successful Bidder under this contract shall provide the name and telephone number of the contact person for each vehicle and for each shift for that vehicle to the County’s authorized representative. This information may be updated at the beginning of each winter storm event. 4. Some equipment will require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the proper endorsements as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The Successful Bidder must be able to provide proof of license upon request. 5. All items necessary for continuing operation of the private vehicle are the responsibility of the Successful Bidder. These responsibilities include but are not limited to providing a driver, fuel, oil, necessary lights, and maintenance to the vehicle. 6. It is the intent of the County to conduct pre-event planning meetings prior to each predicted winter storm event to discuss strategy and service level expectations. All Successful Bidder and approved sub-contractors shall be required to participate in these meetings. Every effort will be made to conduct these meetings with enough advance notice to allow the Successful Bidder and approved sub-contractors to be properly prepared to respond as require.
