Contractor shall provide and apply Imazpyr based herbicide, Nufarm Polaris® EPA Reg. No. 288-534 (or similar aquatic approved herbicide) at a rate of two (2) quarts per acre, using clean water as the carrier for all treatment sites. Contractor shall also supply and apply Methylated seed oil to be used as a surfactant and mixed in the formulation at a rate of 24oz per acre treated. A minimum total of 200 acres and a maximum of 400 acres (total project area) of phragmites shall be treated over a maximum of four (4) designated treatment areas in Eastern Virginia. The treatment sites include the following four (4) State Parks: Belle Isle State Park, Chippokes State Park, First Landing State Park, False Cape State Park. See Attachments D-H, Map for further location information. Helicopter shall be equipped with the following: Drift-minimizing Microfoil® or Thru-Valve® boom with minimum width of twenty-five (25) feet or similar equipment appropriate to the aircraft. Herbicide tank of at least 80 gallon capacity, equipped with real-time GPS system to track treated areas. Fuel, filing for flight paths and all compliance with FAA/ADIZ regulations shall be the responsibility of the contractor. Ground support vehicle shall have a minimum 500 gallon water capacity and minimum of 80 gallon batch tank capacity. Contractor shall come equipped with an anemometer for wind speed measurements.
