Basic Instructor Level training classes (Bid items 1 through 8): 1. ALERRT Level 1 Instructor (Law Enforcement) - This course of instruction is designed to prepare the first responder to isolate, distract, and neutralize an active shooter. This course will cover shooting and moving, threshold evaluation, concepts, and principles of team movement, setting up for and room entry techniques, approach and breaching the crisis site, secondary responder tactics, improvised explosive devices, and post engagement priorities of work. The course will culminate with dynamic force‑on‑force scenarios. A minimum of six (6) instructors are required for a total of three (3) days which includes one (1) day of course preparation at the training site prior to the scheduled training and two (2) days of training for course delivery. Required Credentials/Experience: a. Documented certification as an ALERRT Level 1 Adjunct instructor. b. Documented experience delivering ALERRT Level I basic courses and train-the trainer (T3) courses at the Adjunct level to law enforcement or fire and EMS audiences, as registered and tracked via course number with the ALERRT Center in Texas.
