Goochland County, Virginia (County) is seeking sealed proposals to enter into a contract for the design of a new fire station from licensed and qualified architectural/engineering firms with previous experience in the design, engineering, and construction administration of a Fire-Rescue Station. The selected firm will be expected to design the facility from conceptual to final design provide cost estimates, prepare final drawings and specifications including construction bid documents, assist in the bidding process, and provide construction administration services for the construction of a new FireRescue Station. Fire-Rescue Station 7 - West Creek. The new station will be located on a five (5)-acre site that has some wetlands, a natural gas line and easement, and is identified as Goochland County Tax Map No. 58-32-3- 53-A on the east line of Hockett Road north of its intersection with Tuckahoe Creek Parkway. The purpose of the station is to be a twenty-four (24) hour, seven (7) days a week, mission-oriented, operationally efficient, and cost-effective facility with sufficient space for present and future needs. In addition, the firm will plan for optimal site use, minimize construction costs as well as impacts to the environment, and ensure the facility blends into the existing community and is designed to minimize sound and light impact on its neighbors. It is the County’s desire to include recommended LEED elements but not seek the certification
