Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Contractor shall furnish and deliver 9’ x 31.5”, minimum, power reversing snowplows, hitch, and hydraulic system suitable for installation on a 19,500 lb. GVW truck. For reference, vehicles may be the following make and model: Ford F-550 Super Duty four-wheel drive with H13 Headlights. All the units furnished shall be new and the manufacturer’s current model. No used equipment shall be considered. B. Delivery: Equipment shall be delivered to the Salem District Shop 731 Harrison Avenue, Salem, VA 24153. Units are to be fully assembled, including the angling cylinders, trip mechanism and semi-circle. The end markers, lighting package, lift cylinder and other components that mount to the truck may be unassembled. Equipment shall be delivered to the Salem District Shop within 90 days of the receipt of Purchase Order. The snowplow is to be fully assembled, including the angling cylinders, trip mechanism and semi-circle. Contractor shall notify John Reed at 540-387-5388 forty-eight (48) hours prior to delivery so that personnel may be available to allow access to the location, verify items received and unload. VDOT will not be responsible for items delivered without advance delivery arrangements. Contractor claims, as a result of failure to make advance delivery arrangements, will not be considered by VDOT. DELIVERY POINT: Except when otherwise specified herein, all items shall be F.O.B. delivered, freight prepaid, to any of the locations specified herein. C. Snowplow: Blade height is to be no less than 31.5”. Unit to be supplied with two adjustable skid shoes and shall have plow markers for each end. A rubber snow deflector shall be furnished that will bolt to the top of the moldboard and extend over and in front of the plow. D. Moldboard: Moldboard is to be two-way power reversing type, 9’ in length. Moldboard is to be constructed of not less than 12-gauge steel with at least eight vertical ribs or 10-gauge steel with at least six vertical ribs. Blade height is to be no less than 31.5”. Unit to be supplied with two adjustable skid shoes and shall have plow markers for each end. A rubber snow deflector shall be furnished that will bolt to the top of the moldboard and extend over and in front of the plow. E. Blade: Plow to be equipped with a bolt on ½” x 6” replaceable carbon steel blade utilizing industry standard punched holes.
