The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) is seeking to secure a Supplier to provide 340B pharmaceutical services for the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) facilities in the western part of the Commonwealth. There are approximately 7,000 inmates at 14 VADOC western facilities. The VADOC may add or remove facilities during the term of any contract resulting from this RFP. The initial term of the contract will be for one (1) year from the date of award. The Supplier will provide mail order pharmacy services to referred inmates through the utilization of medications purchased under the Federal Public Health Service 340B Drug Program. The dispensing and clinical pharmacy services shall support the medical services provided by the Supplier for inpatient, outpatient and telemedicine services, as clinically appropriate. Services shall be related to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), hemophilia, and biologics/specialty medications. Additional services related to other medical conditions may be added as mutually agreed upon by both parties after contract execution. For prescription services outside of the 340B program, VADOC facilities are currently members of and purchase pharmacy services from the Minnesota Multistate Contracting Alliance for Pharmacy (MMCAP) contract with Diamond Drugs. MMCAP’s current contract #MMS2200730 for pharmacy services allows facilities to purchase comprehensive pharmacy services including prescription and non-prescription medications. Non-prescription medications are referred to as over-the-counter (OTC) medications.
