Specifications include, but are not limited to: Expand and improve our existing substance use disorder treatment service system to better serve Vermont Women, particularly those who are pregnant and parenting. The language of the block grant and Vermont’s dedication to quality care necessitate that the state: • addresses the unique treatment needs and concerns of women and their families. • promote the integration of evidence-based, gender responsive treatment services for women and their families across the lifespan • ensure priority access to treatment services for pregnant women • treat the family as a unit and therefore admit both women and their children into treatment services, if appropriate. The Vermont Department of Health – Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs (VDH-ADAP) is seeking proposals from experienced vendors to: 1. conduct an evaluation and needs assessment of the current substance use disorder treatment service array and program offerings for Women/ Women and their children. 2. assess and identify methods for improving and enhancing women’s gender-specific substance use treatment in Vermont. 3. make recommendations for substance use disorder treatment service system enhancements 4. develop a technical assistance plan to guide future work.
