1.1.1 Professional assessment of chemical dependency/substance use issues for BMP licensees (M.D.s, podiatrists, physician assistants, anesthesiologist assistants, radiologist assistants, and applicants to be licensed in those professions). 1.1.2 Professional assessment of any other impairments of licenses affecting cognition, judgment, capacity, and behavior. Impairments that are related only to motor function are not included. 1.1.3 Establishment of recovery plans with participants that detail participant obligations and a plan for effective monitoring of abstinence from alcohol and/or drugs, or as appropriate for other covered impairments as identified. 1.1.4 Delivery of services and monitoring consistent with the recovery plans and any applicable BMP Orders for as long as necessary based on provider need and BMP requirements. 1.1.5 The desired outcome is for: a. A program to which the Board can refer licensees who are suspected of being impaired by substance use or other covered causes; b. A program to which the Board orders licensees who are adjudicated as having a covered impairment; c. A program that provides the Board objective assessments, monitoring services, and input, without acting as an advocate for any participant; d. A program to which licensees may self-refer for assessment, support, and monitoring services.
